Neither is better. 18K is 75% gold, so the color is richer and the pendant costs more. 14K is 58.3% gold, which makes it harder and a little more forgiving of daily wear. Every pendant on this page is made to order in either one.
It can lend a warm cast to a stone set close to the metal, which is why a near-colorless diamond often looks its best in yellow gold. If you want the stone to read as white as possible, ask us about a white gold head on a yellow gold body. Every piece here is made to order.
It scratches, as every precious metal does, and it does not fade. The color is the gold itself rather than a plating, so it never needs re-coating the way rhodium-plated white gold does. Scratches polish out at the bench.

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush around the stones, then rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth. Keep it away from chlorine and take it off before you handle cleaning products. That is the whole routine.
