Copper. Rose gold is gold alloyed with copper, and the copper is what carries the color, so the more of it in the mix the deeper the blush. The gold content is unchanged: 14K is 58.3% gold and 18K is 75%, the same as white and yellow.
No. The color is the alloy itself, not a plating, so there is no coating to wear through and nothing to re-apply. A rose gold bracelet looks the same in twenty years as it does the day it ships.
Yes. Copper is harder than the gold it is mixed with, so 14K rose stands up to daily wear at least as well as 14K yellow. It scratches like any precious metal, and the scratches polish out at the bench.
