I play a fun game of spades every two weeks and I get so many compliments and until I blush. I wear it a lot. I'm glad I bought it. Thanks for the price deal I got.

No, not usually. What moves an Asscher's price is clarity. A round of the same weight costs more because rounds carry the demand premium. The windmill only reads crisp in a clean stone, so the stone underneath costs more than the cutting does. On this shelf, that's 8 natural pieces with prices ranging as low as $1,041.99, topping out at $4,224.99.
The windmill. Look straight down at an Asscher and its step facets fold into a windmill pattern that pulls your eye toward the center of the stone. The square outline with cropped corners reads as an octagon on the hand, and the deep pavilion gives the pattern its depth. It's also the shape most tied to Art Deco jewelry, so a new Asscher still carries that vintage feel.
Because the cut is demanding. Step facets don't scramble light the way a brilliant cut does, so inclusions and warm color show plainly, and fewer stones look right in it. Fewer qualifying stones means fewer Asschers in shop windows, and the shape stayed a deliberate pick. That's also why this shelf is short: 8 pieces, each built around a stone that can carry the cut.
That you chose the shape on purpose. Most shoppers default to a round. Anyone wearing an Asscher probably went looking for it, usually out of a pull toward Art Deco design or clean geometry. If you're deciding, put it next to an emerald cut, its rectangular relative, and see which outline your eye keeps coming back to.
On most hands, yes. Keep in mind that an Asscher holds a lot of its weight in the deep pavilion, so face-up it looks a touch smaller than a round of the same carat. The practical part: most designs on this shelf let you pick the carat, from 0.25 up to 2.00 CT, and the price follows the pick. If you're not sure, start smaller. The setting doesn't change.

About Our Asscher Cut Diamond Jewelry
The Asscher cut is Art Deco geometry that never left. Its step facets fold into a windmill pattern, and the cropped corners turn a square into a soft octagon on the hand. We've cast, set and polished our own jewelry in our own US factory since 2001, so the price on every piece here is the factory's price, not a showroom's.
All 8 pieces here are natural Asscher cut diamonds, and we'd rather show you a short shelf than pad one. It runs to rings and stud earrings, each made to order in 14K or 18K white, yellow or rose gold, or in platinum. On most designs the carat is selectable, from 0.25 up to 2.00 CT, and the price moves with it, so the floor and the ceiling below are both real numbers.
The numbers: prices ranging as low as $1,041.99, a ceiling of $4,224.99, and the middle of the shelf at $1,390.99. The Asscher's nearest relative is the rectangular step cut, so if you like the facet style but want a longer outline, see our emerald cut diamond jewelry page. And if the piece you're picturing isn't one of these 8, our custom design service exists for exactly that: bring us an idea or a sketch and our jewelers will make an Asscher piece to order from it. Stuck between two pieces here, contact us and we'll help you decide.
