Because that's what we list ready to order in heart shape, and we won't pad a page with the same design at three more weights. A heart halo, a three stone, studs or a heavier center is made to order. The 3D design is free and takes no deposit.
Around three quarters of a carat before the shape reads clearly at arm's length. Below that it starts to look like a rounded stone with a notch in it, and the cleft is the first thing to disappear.
Symmetry, mostly. The two lobes should mirror each other, the cleft should be sharp and centered, and the point at the bottom should line up with it. It's the shape where a poor cut is easiest to see without knowing anything about diamonds.
Yes, and here the price difference matters more than usual. Cutting a heart throws away a great deal of the rough crystal, so a mined heart at the size this shape needs gets expensive fast. A lab grown heart of the same specification costs well under that, which is how you buy the size the shape actually wants.
