There's no single best; cut is the real decision. 28 of the 45 rings here are round: round stones nest tightly, so the line reads almost unbroken. Emerald runs longer and quieter, with 8 to choose from, and princess sets a straight, continuous edge. Settle the cut first, then the metal.
